North Carolina native Whitney Lawson is one of six members of the ‘The Crazy Lawson Tribe’. This is the self-given name she and her family lovingly began calling themselves when they said ‘yes’ to a wild international adventure with Jesus.
Chris, Whitney, and their four beautiful daughters have been serving in Thailand as missionaries for over three years. Everyday they share the Gospel with others, specifically the unreached people of Thailand. They have a passionate vision to plant churches through discipleship making movements by leading the unreached to Christ and equipping them to disciple others.
It is easy to read about by the amazing work the Lawson family is doing for the Kingdom, but their are countless details of journey that cannot be shared in 100 words or less.
In my conversation with Whitney she opens a door to this as she shares her personal testimony. Their family’s story is one of transformation, travel, and true love found only at the feet of Jesus!

Serving Update:
In the beginning of May the Lawson family reached out to their immigration contact in Thailand and were told no new visa applications were being accepted at this time. They were most likely delayed until after the first of the year, 2021. Chris and Whitney have been praying, listening to the Holy Spirit, and seeking counsel from trusted individuals. With international travel closed and their current visa status, they felt God was beginning to lead them into a new direction of ministry. The Lawson’s are so excited to share that their family is moving to Mobile, Alabama in July to serve in an international student ministry, Friends of Internationals, led by Jim and Mary Mather.

Friends of Internationals is strategic in reaching countries that are closed to the gospel. We have experienced what it feels like to be a foreigner in a strange land, and we get to be the hands and feet of Jesus for international students adjusting to a new place very different from their home. Our vision, just as with Thailand, is to bring hope, joy, and freedom, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to make disciples equipped to grow in Christ, live on mission with God, and reproduce.”
