Episode 114: Entering New Seasons with Emmy Award-Winning Journalist Kennedy Dendy

Emmy Award-Winning Journalist, Kennedy Dendy, was born and raised in Dallas, Texas with big dreams for her bright future. At an early age she was naturally drawn to the field of news media, often mimicking the show hosts she watched on television.

Still driven by her passion for sharing stories, Kennedy graduated from Baylor University with a journalism major/film and digital media minor in December of 2019. After graduating she left her hometown and comfort zone to move to the East Coast to work as a weekend Morning Anchor/Producer and a news reporter for KEZI 9 News in Eugene, Oregon.

Kennedy has always held close Proverbs 3:5-6, a verse from the Bible about trusting and submitting your plans to the Lord, but she never would have guessed that in this new season her faith would be refined by fire, quite literally.

In this conversation with Kennedy she shares about her experience with KEZI 9 News in Eugene in the middle of the 2021 Oregon fires, winning a beautiful, but quite heavy, Emmy Award, and what is happening in the new season of her life in her new anchor position with Action News Jax (CBS47 & FOX30) in Jacksonville, Florida.

Kennedy’s trust in having God handle all of her decision making is a major encouragement to me and I pray it is for you too!
