Episode 103: “Nothing Without Jesus” UWF Quarterback Austin Reed

Listen to the podcast on iTunesSpotify, iHeartRadio, SpreakerPlayerFMLuminaryPodBean, and Google Play Music

University of West Florida Quarterback, Austin Reed, is rooted in one five word declaration, “I am NOTHING without Jesus.” Through interviews with the press, posts on social media, and relationships with others, on and off the football field, this NCAA 2019 Division II National Champion does not hold back in sharing his faith.

However, Austin’s life altering decision to place Christ first did not derive from his success as an athlete, but rather from experiencing great loss. After witnessing his high school friend, Caleb, give God glory in every moment of his journey of battling cancer Austin felt deeply convicted. Just as Caleb had lived, fully surrendered to Jesus, Austin was compelled to do the same.

On this episode of “Still With You” Austin joins us to talk about completing his undergrad degree, winning the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship (remember that incredible game?! 🏆), what it was like to take an unexpected year off from gameplay in 2020, new UWF uniforms, stories behind each of his tattoos, and what to expect from the Argo’s this season.

As you pull out your favorite college team’s colors every weekend this season I hope you are reminded of Austin’s encouraging words. Without Jesus we are nothing!!
