Currently, on cloud nine! Season two of ‘Still With You’ kicks off next week, January 18th.
In celebration of the podcast countdown and pure curiosity, I spent this afternoon looking up the nineteenth verse in the ninth chapter in several books of the Bible. Here is a list of a few I found, my favorite is from Job!
“From these three sons of Noah came all the people who now populate the earth.” -Genesis 9:19
“Quick! Order your livestock and servants to come in from the fields to find shelter. Any person or animal left outside will die when the hail falls.'”-Exodus 9:19
“But the leaders replied, “Since we have sworn an oath in the presence of the LORD, the God of Israel, we cannot touch them.” -Joshua 9:19
“If it’s a question of strength, He’s the strong one. If it’s a matter of justice, who dares to summon Him to court?” -Job 9:19
“Arise, O LORD! Do not let mere mortals defy you! Judge the nations!” -Psalm 9:19
“So Jesus and his disciples got up and went with him” -Matthew 9:19
“Even though I am a free man with no master, I have become a slave to all people to bring many to Christ”-1 Corinthians 9:19
“For after Moses had read each of God’s commandments to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, along with water, and sprinkled both the book of God’s law and all the people, using hyssop branches and scarlet wool” -Hebrews 9:19
“Their power was in their mouths and in their tails. For their tails had heads like snakes, with the power to injure people” -Revelation 9:19
This scavenger hunt was a spontaneous simple joy and so interesting. What may appear as the most minute detail within the Bible is not minute to God. The Bible is filled with treasures of God’s use of numbers, language, and true stories. Ask God to give you a number and then seek it out within the scripture. It is so much fun and so good helping you growing in the Spirit!
